Experience the Tranquility of Nature

About Bhandardara

Bhandardara is a quiet hill town in the Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) district of Maharashtra, cradled within the Sahyadri mountain ranges and fed by the Pravara River. It is best known for the Bhandardara Dam, one of the oldest dams in the region, along with its horseshoe-shaped Arthur Lake, historic forts, and seasonal waterfalls that come alive during the monsoon. Bhandardara is also the gateway to Mount Kalsubai — the highest peak in Maharashtra — making it a favourite among trekkers, along with routes leading to Ratangad Fort, Amruteshwar Temple, and the villages surrounding the region. Whether you are chasing a monsoon waterfall, climbing to a sunrise summit, or simply looking for quiet time by the water, Bhandardara offers a side of Maharashtra that feels far from the city, yet is within easy reach.
